Additionally, he spoke about his cooperation with Offecct, and the products that have come out of this strong and long-lasting collaboration.

To accompany the Italian theme of our evening, everyone could enjoy a Bellini, a drink made from puréed white peaches and Prosecco, an Italian sparkling wine. The Bellini was invented in Venice sometime during the first half of the 1900s, and thu s comes from the same town as Luca himself!

Jean-Marie Massaud innovates with AIRBERG

Airberg by Jean-Marie Massaud is currently being presented to visitors at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan. Airberg is an innovative piece of furniture that breaks with conventions, and one of the first results that come out of the work at Offecct Lab, our strategic initiative designed to concentrate our efforts in the development of new solutions and new products.

Airberg-01

Airberg by Jean-Marie Massaud

The inspiration behind the form of Airberg is a combination of a comfortable, inviting piece of seating furniture and an iceberg filled with vacuum. The furniture’s abstract form is light in its expression and Airberg is contemporary both in its design and in the technique used. Airberg consists of a structural case which gives the impression of being filled with a vacuum, but is in reality filled with a flexible padding material.

Airberg is not ready for production yet, but should be seen as a result of an ongoing research and development process where Offecct and Jean-Marie Massaud dared to develop a piece of seating furniture for the meeting places of the future.

Massaud’s designs are characterized by an understanding of the surrounding world and he creates designs through a holistic approach that captures the zeitgeist in an interesting way. Massaud has been named Designer of the Year several times and has worked with companies such as Cacharel, Lancôme and Renault.

Luca Nichetto Creates Continuity with the Sofa LINEA

One of the novelties currently on exhibition at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan is Luca Nichetto’s Linea. The original idea to the sofa Luca Nichetto got from The Line, an Italian animated TV-show he used to watch as a child. With this inspiration Nichetto wanted to create a sofa with a back, when combined in greater numbers, forms a line that creates continuity.

OFFECCT_Linea.simple

Linea by Luca Nichetto

The possibility to combine modules to a greater entirety gives architects and interior designers the opportunity to play with the product and its lines. The sofa is available in two sizes; two or three seater. Small tables link the sofas together and provide functionality. This makes Linea adaptable and possible to use in large as well as small rooms.

The development of Linea demanded intensive work in order to find the right proportions that could create the above mentioned continuity. The result is a piece of furniture with proportions that wander between a sofa and a bench, landing somewhere in between.

The chair CAPE by Nendo

One of the new products we are currenly presenting in Milan is Nendo’s chair Cape. Cape is the result of our first cooperation with and is a complex chair with an exciting look, with ultra-thin dimensions and a very low weight, made possible through our involvement in the development of new steel materials.

Offecct-nendo-cape

Cape by Nendo

The development behind Cape, just like the development of Airberg, has taken place within the Offecct Lab, a comprehensive strategic initiative which aims to concentrate Offecct’s efforts in the development of new solutions and new products.

Cape is an elegant chair that gives the illusion of a cape spread over a frame. The subtle twist in the design of Cape makes the chair stand out all the while being obvious and simple in its design language.

OFFECCT at SWEDENTAL

We regularly supply interiors for hospitals, clinics and – in this case – dental practices.

You can read more about Offecct in healthcare environments in previous blog posts:

Together with Götene Specialinredningar we are currently at Swedental, a dental fair in Gothenburg. Our furniture is exhibited in a modern waiting room.

Playback is a module sofa, designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune, that combines playfulness and tight elements. Playback is characterized by the opportunity to choose different fabrics and colors for the frame and cushions. In this sofa the cushions have been given a relaxing and calming green color, while frame is a sober black.

Window Magazine comes in two various sizes, including three magazine trays and room for plants in lacquered metal. The table is designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune.

Soundwave Swell was one of the first panels launched by Offecct, and is designed by Teppo Asikainen. The piece has a very strong personality and acts as a kind of 3D wallpaper giving the room the right aesthetic feeling and acoustic at the same time.

Green Pads is designed by Luca Nichetto who was inspired by the architecture of the 1950s when he took on the task of producing a product for our O2ASIS project. In the 1950s, vegetation was an integral part of architecture. As Luca began the development work he put a number of flowers in flowerpots on flowerpot saucers of different sizes next to each other. Then he removed the flowers and the flowerpots but kept the flowerpot saucers on the floor. These flowerpot saucers of various sizes formed a sort of pattern which was then reworked by Luca resulting in the piece of green furniture that has been named Green Pads.

And finally, the K-line coat stand, designed by Khodi Feiz, is part of a range of meeting accessories for Offecct under the name K-line.
