Another beautiful project is H&M’s office in Paris.

In the front you can see the easy chair Palma designed by Khodi Feiz, accompanied by the table Bird by Broberg & Ridderstråle. In the back you can see the sofa Playback by Claesson Koivisto Rune.

Residence Magazine: Designer of the Year Award

Johan Ridderstråle and Mats Broberg, who make up the design duo Broberg & Ridderstråle, have received the Designer of the Year Award 2011 from Swedish design magazine Residence. The duo was awarded for, among a few other designs, the Lite chair designed for OFFECCT.

Ridderstråle and Broberg have been working together since they met at Konstfack (University College of Arts, Crafts and Design). They work with the belief that the world can always become a little better, easier, and smarter. They use everyday materials and phenomenon, give them a little twist and create something new and unique.

OFFECCT Designer Profile #5: Broberg & Ridderstråle

Johan Ridderstråle and Mats Broberg describe themselves as creative collaborators mixing architecture and design. This collaboration has been going since they studied together at Konstfack, the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. They have their own studio, Broberg & Ridderstråle Design & Architecture, in Stockholm. They have received the Wallpaper Design Award in 2007, the Design Plus Award in 2009, and the Elle Interior Design Price in 2010.

Broberg & Ridderstråle describe their design philosophy such as:

“We strive to add an emotional value to our design that communicates with the user through recognition of symbols and meanings. We often draw inspiration from everyday life and try to combine a rational approach with a dash of humor and wit.”

Broberg & Ridderstråle have designed the coffee table BIRD for OFFECCT, with a tabletop in texture lacquered MDF and a white lacquered frame.
