At the recent Salone del Mobile we got a chance to show how international our company is. In order to get the most out of every meeting during the fair, we had people in our stand speaking, besides Swedish of course, nine other languages: English, Danish, German, Russian Japanese, Dutch, Italian, French and Spanish!

At the recent Salone del Mobile we got a chance to show how international our company is. In order to get the most out of every meeting during the fair, we had people in our stand speaking, besides Swedish of course, nine other languages: English, Danish, German, Russian Japanese, Dutch, Italian, French and Spanish!

Apart from meeting and talking to the many visitors of the fair, our Design Manager Anders Englund met and discussed with many established international designers, such as Alfredo Häberli, Jean-Marie Massaud, Ineke Hans, Khodi Feiz, Michael Sodeau, Patrick Norguet, Christophe Pillet, Louise Hederström, Läufer & Keichel, Tengbom arkitekter among others. We also met and talked to new interesting designers from Argentina, Germany and England with the future in mind.

Now that Offecct is established in South America, represented by Jeanette Verhulst, interest for our company has grown among the population, something that was evident at our stand during the fair where many Southern Americans came to visit us.

Just home from Salone del Mobile in Milan we wanted to share some of our impressions with you.

The fair was a success, and our products were well received by the numerous visitors who came to our stand. SMALLROOM attracted special attention with its unique and useful design.

Just home from Salone del Mobile in Milan we wanted to share some of our impressions with you.

The fair was a success, and our products were well received by the numerous visitors who came to our stand. SMALLROOM attracted special attention with its unique and useful design.

This year our stand had been enlarged, and we were able to create an airy and open stand that welcomed visitors. This gave us more opportunities to interact with visitors and to establish new relationships, and to show all our new products. We made many new contacts at the fair, both potential new clients and designers.

The overall quality of the fair was very high, and despite much talk about the hard times, visitors were showing optimism about the future.

An immediate gratifying result from the fair was an order on a great number of SOLICHAIRS for Gemeente Lansingerland in Holland.

FASTBACK is an upholstered conference chair. The chair has an excellent comfort; even when you have been sitting for a really long time the chair remains comfortable. This is the result of our use of the technology used in car sears, where the secret lies with the use of suspension systems.

FASTBACK has a soft, yet alert and crisp design language. The chair is characterized by its rounded angles, which is not only a visual characteristic but a feature that adds to the comfort; when one changes seating position one does not encounter hard or uncomfortable angles. FASTBACK is available as a chair and an armchair.

About Claesson Koivisto Rune

Claesson Koivisto Rune has since the start 1993 obtained international recognition and received several honorable awards. Claesson Koivisto Rune design both buildings and interior details. The list of performed projects contains buildings, private homes, offices, exhibitions, advertising agencies, restaurants and hotels. Among the many awards the agency has received are Elle Interiör Design Award, magazine Disajn’s award Designer of the Year.

DUO WOOD has been given a softer side in this year’s version. The use of wood in the construction has given the chair a more sensual and almost homely feeling. DUO WOOD is a small chair with a clear and easy to read design language. The impression of this clarity is further heightened by the many colors DUO WOOD is available in.

About Patrick Norguet

Patrick Norguet is one of France’s most interesting contemporary designers. Norguet always tries to find new, exiting techniques for his missions and has good use of his training in engineering. After studying design at ENSCI in Paris his career took off when he became responsible for the visual communication of Louis Vuitton. Today Norguet runs his own successful design agency and has received multiple awards, among others the Red Dot Design Award and the Wallpaper* Design Award.

At first glance COUPE gives the impression of being entirely made of textile. In fact COUPE can be described as a chair that has been dressed up in textile. Läufer + Keichel and Offecct have used a special knitting technique in order to obtain this effect. The duo wanted to create a chair that gives the impression that it is wearing pants.

About Läufer + Keichel

Julia Läufer and Marcus Keichel founded the Berlin based design agency Läufer + Keichel GbR in 2003. Their work has ever since been characterized by the desire to create everyday objects with a human face, regardless if it is architecture or product design.

The design duo has been awarded the Good Design Award, the Red Dot Award and the IF Product Design Award, and have participated in a great number of expositions throughout the world

Louise Hederström’s design of GREEN DIVIDER is flexible and can be placed in different formations or stand alone. The attractive graphic form of GREEN DIVIDER means that it works perfectly well with smaller plants or even without any plants at all.

- I like working graphically and to create expressions in a room, says Louise Hederström.

- I am very satisfied with the design of the product which allows bigger plants to climb, but also works well without any greenery at all. The divider itself creates a connection to plants with their form, she adds.

GREEN DIVIDER is a new product within our O2ASIS concept. O2ASIS is a product line of design products that together with flowers and greenery contribute, and bring value, to any interior.

About Louise Hederström

Louise Hederström has a degree from Beckmans College of Design in Stockholm, where she was tutored by renowned Swedish designer Björn Dahlström. She has also studied at the University of Lund. Louise Hederström has received the prestigious Estrid Ericsson scholarship, and has also received the Blueprint Design Award at the London Design Festival.

- There is a strong poetic aspect to LAYER: the layers can be seen as flower petals, or as the different blue layers that emerge when one looks at mountains in the horizon, says Läufer + Keichel.

The first layer can be compared to a stool, the second layer to a chair and the third layer creates the final form; an easy chair. The different layers can be given different colors on the same scale or completely different colors in order to create different effects.

A front panel can be added to the table in any desired color or in a black mesh. The front panel reinforces the integrity of the person sitting at the table and provides for more design possibilities.

– Tables in this category are often rather dull, and it was extremely important to us to create a more interesting and compelling table compared to other tables on the market, says Johan Ridderstråle, Partner Broberg & Ridderstråle

– In order to accomplish this we started out from the chair project, and more specifically the angles of the chair which inspired an exciting loop on the table leg making the LITE table more distinguish than other conference tables, Johan Ridderstråle concludes.

LITE is foldable and comes in different sizes. By placing several tables together a symmetry is created giving the impression of a bigger table. LITE weights under 10 kg and is easy for one person to handle.

MOMENT by Khodi Feiz is an easy chair that supports different activities, apart from sitting, such as snacking, reading a newspaper, or working, thanks to the little table attached on the side. In short, the easy chair invites you to take a moment in the chair to do something you like.

In designing MOMENT, Feiz was originally inspired by old school desks made up of a wooden chair with a table attached on the side. This design gave Feiz the idea to design an easy chair supporting more activities than just sitting.

“Observing those “moments” which we engage in while seated was the key inspiration for this project. Noticing that we rarely “just sit”, we started to reflect on all the activities we do while sitting: all the moments that we read, we drink a cup of coffee, we work, we engage in conversation… ‘Moment’ was born out of these situations,” says designer Khodi Feiz.

- The cooperation with Offecct is very rewarding, particularly due to our long-lasting relationship which means that we as designer and producer understand each other’s nuances and how we work, he adds.

About Khodi Feiz

Khodi Feiz was born in Iran, and studied industrial design at Syracuse University. In 1990, Khodi Feiz moved to the Netherlands, where he worked for Philips Design until 1998.

He then started his own business, Feiz Design, together with his wife, graphic designer Anneko Feiz-van Dorsen. The company is based in Amsterdam, and works mainly on product and furniture design, together with graphic and strategic design. Khodi Feiz’s work has won numerous awards, and in recent years he has been featured in exhibitions and publications worldwide.
