Domkyrkoforum was designed by architect Carmen Izquierdo. It was inaugurated late 2011, and is today a place where young and old gather to meet and create. The forum is connected to the Cathedral by the Dom square that was designed by landscape architect Charlotte Lund. Charlotte Lund and Carmen Izquierdo both received Lund’s urban construction prize for their designs.
The forum holds an auditorium for lectures and seminars, and the Laurentii Hall can be used for parties and receptions. The employees of the cathedral also have their offices here. The forum has been built on top of old foundations from the Middle Ages, which are protected by a thick base plate. During construction a time capsule was cast into the plate, filled with objects typical to our time. Maybe a future archaeologist will discover it?
Lite, with its thin profile and wide arched back fits perfectly into the forum. Lite is a stackable chair and armchair designed by Broberg & Ridderstråle Design & Architecture. Lite combines an attractive design with the stringent requirements of a stackable chair – it is easy to transport and to stack, as well as space-efficient and durable.

Johan Ridderstråle and Mats Broberg have worked together on various projects since studying together at the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. They always strive to add an emotional value to their design that communicates with the user through recognition of symbols and meanings. They often draw inspiration from everyday life and try to combine a rational approach with a bit of wit and the clash between past and present.
