Satyendra Pakhalé has been awarded the Bharat Samman Award 2013 and the NRI Award 2012 for exemplary achievements. The Rt. Hon. Baroness Verma presented the awards to Mr. Pakhaté on 10 January 2013 on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee of the NRI Institute London in New Delhi, Indio.

Grip and Grip Vase
Satyendra Pakhalé was born in India and now lives and works from Amsterdam. He completed his Degree in Engineering and a Masters in Design at IIT Bombay, India, and studied Advanced Product Design in Switzerland. After graduation he worked at Philips Design, creating innovative products in the areas of digital communication and transportation. In 1998 he set up his own design practice in Amsterdam.
Pakhalé works in wide range of disciplines, bringing to his design a set of fresh perspectives, a diversity of innovative cultural connections, particularly relevant in today’s society. Pakhalé’s design emanates from cultural dialogue, synthesizing new applications of materials and technologies with great ingenuity. He conveys a message that could be defined ‘universal’ through his designs. Satyendra Pakhalé considers the design profession an expression of true human optimism. He is motivated by social, technological, ecological, industrial and above all cultural parameters, as much as by a purely creative vision. Pakhalé teaches at the Eindhoven Design Academy and describes himself as a cultural nomad who moves between different parts of the world, projects, and disciplines.
