First out is some excerpts from a dinner conversation between Kurt Tingdal, CEO, Anders Englund, Design Manager, Eero Koivisto, Art Director and writer Max Fraser.
Max Fraser: One evening in September 2010, I joined OFFECCT’s co-founders Kurt Tingdal and Anders Englund as they reminisced the evolution of their company. This book is a story of ambition and chance, of enterprise and perseverance, told in the voices of those that made it happen.

Kurt Tingdal: I started to consider how I could have my own company. How would that affect my time and also my personal development? By the end of 1988, I had to do something. I had to spread my wings.
Anders Englund: Kurt had enough other things to do, and he needed someone to take on the product development part. [---] Kurt has a very strong vision, very similar to the one that I have. We believe that furniture is more of a component in a construction, and the construction is the house.
Kurt: Looking back, I think it was a beneficial experience to work in that company, without any money or tools but with high ambition and a large stack of problems to solve. [---] After that, things moved forward enormously fast…
