OFFECCT Designer Profile #7: Christophe Pillet

The work of Christophe Pillet, owes part of its success to the clarity of his expression. Pillet is not interested in trends, instead he curiously looks around and creates designs to improve what already exists and add what is missing. Christiophe’s design can be described as a combination of curiosity, simplicity, economy, and – albeit apparent paradoxically – luxury; with commissions from renowned well known companies such as Lancel, Lacoste, John Richmond and Hôtel Sezz in Paris.

Christophe Pillet was educated at the Decorative Arts School in Nice and Domus Academy in Milan. Pillet has been described as a Starck protégé in media, but Christophe is one of rather few French designers with an international recognition in his own right.

For OFFECCT, Pillet has designed the Club easy chair, taking the classic armchair to completely new heights and areas of use in a modern guise. In collaboration with OFFECCT’s progressive design team, he has developed an exciting new technology – not just another new design.
